Lucy's StoryLucy is a twenties-plus mare, probably a small quarter horse. She was found on the C&O Canal, just wandering. The farrier has surmised that she had been caught in some type of wire because she did not like her feet being touched. However, after several hours of building trust, Lucy now stands for her trimmings. She has gained a considerable amount of weight, and takes long naps. She is blind in her right eye, but gets along just great. She would make a fantastic companion. I do not yet know her ability to be ridden. Read the Humane Society's article about Lucy's discovery Update: Lucy has been adopted by Heather who fell in love with her the first time she laid eyes on her...Lucy has complete trust in Heather and is working on being ridden again.
